The Oftec qualifications are similar to the ACS qualifications for gas, in so much as they prove competency in the required areas of your work.

Oftec Qualification 101:

This is required when only servicing and maintaining pressure jet oil boilers. If you intend to work on the ‘wet’ side e.g: installing boilers and/or working on heating system and controls you will need the additional qualification of 105E (which is Energy Efficiency).

The 101 qualification will give you the competency to inspect oil tanks as part of a service, but if you wish to install oil tanks you will also require the additional qualification of 600.
